The KISS160 is a double-decker regional train. With the KISS, the name says it all: it is an acronym of the German for comfortable innovative speedy suburban train. As a regional train with a high passenger capacity, the KISS has been operating successfully from Western Europe to the Urals since 2010, and it will soon start operation in the USA too.
The KISS160 is a double-decker train with high, scalable passenger capacity. The KISS has a stable, warp-resistant aluminium vehicle body, making it lightweight and energy-efficient. The regional train model has double doors for rapid passenger flow and is designed for maximum speeds of up to 160 km/h. Two- to eight-car train compositions in normal and broad gauge are available. Depending on the interior design, these can accommodate seats for up to 1000 passengers. The interior of the KISS is very flexible to adapt to individual customer requirements.
Stadler received its first order for double-decker KISS trains from SBB in 2008.
