CUTTING-EDGE ENGINES

Compliant with the latest European emission standard (Stage V), the state-of-the-art engines not only achieve a substantial reduction in pollutant emissions but also optimize combustion, resulting in lower fuel consumption and reduced greenhouse gases emissions.

TOP EFFICIENCY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CARE

The efficient diesel engines in combination with an auto start-stop system and innovative idle reduction systems significantly reduce fuel consumption, exhaust gas emissions and noise.

BEYOND THE LATEST STANDARDS

The powerful locomotives are designed beyond the latest standards regarding safety, emissions, and environmental protection and beyond our European customers’ most stringent requirements.

Image for MORE PRODUCTIVITY

MORE PRODUCTIVITY

The high traction effort, up to 340 kN, and the bogie concept promotes better adhesion and enables more wagons to be towed, thus increasing productivity. The large tank volume mounted on the diesel versions, as well as the best-in-class battery traction modules provide large autonomy.

REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM

The locomotives cab be equipped with radio remote control system to split or assemble freight trains without a driver on board. The staff can use a portable terminal to brake and accelerate and move the locomotive backwards and forwards.

FLEXIBLE AND PROFITABLE OPERATIONS

Stadler’s central-cab locomotives offer excellent flexibility to rail operators, as the units can be used to improve the operational efficiency on shunting work in marshalling yards and freight terminals, as well as on infrastructure construction operations and on mainline transport services. They can operate safely at speeds up to 120 km/h ensuring a smooth integration into the mainline traffic. They are also designed for multiple unit operation, up to three locomotives.

COMFORT AND SAFETY FOR THE CREW

The locomotives have a fully equipped central driver's cab. The cab has two driver's desks to be able to drive according to the direction of travel. Each driver's desk includes the locomotive's control panels. The driver’s cab has been designed under safety and ergonomic criteria to respond to operational needs such as allowing optimum visibility in all directions or providing sufficient space for crewmembers. It has thermal insulation to improve comfort in extreme temperature conditions. The driver’s cab is accessible via front or back entries using gangways. The train can safely be crossed from one side of the track to another.

DIGITALISATION

Our top-of-the-range locomotives are fitted with the latest generation of vehicle control systems, including remote monitoring and diagnosis features to enable our customers to move to a predictive maintenance environment.
