The commissioning and startup centre in Erlen is favourably located on the Swiss Federal Railways mainline between Zurich and Romanshorn. Since October 2010, vehicles which are built in Bussnang and Altenrhein, in particular the FLIRT trains and KISS double-decker trains, have undergone an inspection and commissioning programme there for around six weeks before being delivered on to the customers.
