Safety is of paramount importance in rail operations. However, if an incident occurs, it is important to act quickly and professionally. Accidents can always happen. Following an incident, Stadler specialists check the vehicle on site, assess the damage and initiate measures to repair it. Does the vehicle have to be calibrated, the driver’s cab dismantled, the drive unit replaced, the bogie repaired, or the body superstructure restored? Our experts know what needs to be done to ensure that damaged vehicles can be restored to use again as soon as possible. We repair all vehicle fleets, regardless of whether or not they were built by Stadler. This can be done either in one of our workshops or at the customer’s location.

  • A train operated by the Norwegian operator Norske tog/Vy collided at a level crossing with a boat trailer transporting a boat, pushing it under the vehicle. In the process, the steel trailer not only damaged the bogies, but the car bodies also sustained considerable damage from the impact.

    Stadler ensured rapid, full repairs in just nine months – despite the huge amount of work required on the entire car body structure and the replacement of a complete car body

  • An SBB passenger train collided sideways with a construction machine while maintenance work was taking place on the tracks. The train derailed in the process and its underfloor structure was damaged. Apart from some other minor damage, the main damage was caused by the magnetic track brake, which tore off and perforated the bodywork. The axle was overstressed by the derailment and cracked. Consequently, the entire bogie hit the body and damaged the underfloor structure. Stadler repaired the damaged vehicle quickly and professionally.
